Coaching

Coaching Defined

Think about an Olympic athlete, perhaps a cross-country runner, and consider what a coach would do for such a person. The coach would talk to them about their dreams and aspirations, their time-frame for achieving these dreams, their strengths and opportunities for improving their performance, their motivation, support system, time available for training, schedule of meets and practices. The coach would joke with the athlete, ride them, encourage them, track their progress. In some cases, the coach might help the athlete to change to a related sport; one better suited to their spirit, to their body type or competitive style. The coach would help the athlete to prepare for the races, to pace themselves, to deal with the emotional highs and lows of winning and losing, of being injured and recovering. Further along in time, the coach might help them to decide what they will do after their competitive career is over.

Get the idea? Now imagine that sport is life, and you can imagine what a coach could do for you. You might like to take a look at the heading titled 'Who Can Benefit', for further clarification.

What Coaching Isn't
Coaching is different from therapy and a reading. In a reading, I do most of the talking as we search the unknown to find solutions. In therapy, you do most of the talking and I do the listening. However, in coaching, we collaborate and there is more interplay as we work with your project. Having said this, coaching can include elements of both therapy and intuition.

Business, Therapy and Coaching

Perhaps my unique perspective arises out of my wearing a variety of different hats. I started out with a management degree and spent close to a decade in the corporate world, in Human Resources and then as a trainer in management development. In the early 90's, I decided to augment my skills by training as a psychotherapist. For three years, I had a private therapy practice while co-running workshops in North America and Europe on Conflict Facilitation and Relationship Skills. In 1997, I relinquished pure therapy work in favour of combining it with my business skills for what was to later become the newly coined field of Coaching.

Web Links

I believe that navigating my way around the internet has been greatly aided by the numerous useful links I have found on many web sites. I’m attempting to do the same here, although the list is fairly short so far. As things change so quickly in Cyberspace, I can only say that these sites were useful when I last visited.

Loopdeloop www.loopdeloop.ca
Valeria, at Loopdeloop Interactive, helped me to design and execute my web site and you can see the results for yourself. She lets the site reflect who I am and at the same time guides the process of how to do it that way. I felt seen and supported - and I've come away with skills and information I didn't have before I started. Perfect!

Nexus Magazine	www.nexusmagazine.com
I like this magazine with its in-depth articles on a wide range of subjects relating to our changing world. A quick look at their web site might help you decide if you want to buy an issue or subscribe. They do include some full articles but others are only available if you subscribe.

Parabola www.parabola.org
This journal focuses on a different topic in each issue. They announce these ahead of time and you can get onto their mailing list to find out what they’re planning. If you’re a writer, you might even want to submit articles.

Is there anybody out there?

There are days when I wonder if there is anyone else out there who sees the world in anything like the way I do. Sometimes I feel like I come from another galaxy and I've landed in a place that is foreign. Ever have that feeling?

This blog is for those people who are or would like to be a part of my community of like-minded individuals. Sometimes I comment on topical issues, sometimes things esoteric, sometimes what services I offer or how I do what I do. You never know what I might turn my attention to. Hopefully it's thought-provoking. I throw out some of my thoughts and you can comment if you feel moved to.

If you'd like to receive an email to remind you when I post each week, use the contact link on the side bar and include 'reminder' in the subject line. Rest assured that your email address will not be sold or passed along to anyone.

Business/Personal Coach - Psychic

You CAN unstick your life. You CAN find yourself again. You CAN make changes. You CAN get the support you need to confidently step up to the challenges in your life.

We used to believe that your personal life and your work life shouldn't overlap. Now we know that isn't so. Life's challenges help us to grow but they arrive on a mysterious schedule. Because they can be frustrating, overwhelming, confusing, as well as inspiring, you may be seeking help to get those challenges by the tail.

In an era where we watch what we eat, count how many times a week we visit the fitness club, and feel guilty if we don't keep up with our book club reading, we have yet to learn how to listen to our own inner voice and check how full our spiritual cup feels.

This is the territory of my life's work. I hang out with my clients in the challenging and ambiguous territory of change, helping them to determine what sort of support they need, where they want to go and how to get there. I remind clients to survey their unique spiritual needs, help them understand the voices of dream and synchronicity in their lives, and provide a sounding board for their plans and decisions.

My work is a blend of time-tested business techniques, psychotherapeutic interventions, intuitive insights, creative problem-solving, healing ... and common sense.

- revisit outmoded belief systems
- get confirmation of your hunches
- move on from a past situation (job, relationship, career)
- work with an annoying or intriguing symptom or synchronicity
- get feedback on, or support for, a project, work situation, new business idea
- diagnose organizational issues and search for workable, graceful solutions
- re-evaluate or reset your goals

Over the past 26 years, my clients have consistently said that I am accurate, supportive, challenging, but more than anything, that I am practical and down-to-earth. Sometimes what you need is a simple, ordinary solution, and sometimes, the unorthodox is what will unlock the creative box.

Booking Sessions and Rates

Booking Sessions

You can book a session with me by sending me an email (See side bar for contact information) and I will get back to you as soon as I receive your message. If I’m traveling, this may take a few days. Some people like to chat with me before they arrange a session and I’m open to this. I find it’s a good way to assess our compatibility and get a feel for what you might like to work on. If you’d like me to do a psychic reading, we can book a session at that time. If we agree to work together in a coaching relationship, we can book a time for the first session and, at that time, we can assess how many sessions you’d like to commit to and make the bookings.

Psychic Readings

Personal Readings

Your Energy is Your Personal Fingerprint
I’ve been doing readings since 1988 and find the work incredibly satisfying. I shift my attention out of the world of our five senses and into your energy field, where I pick up the information that sits there. The information usually relates to the patterns that have been repeating themselves in your life.
Most people come to me for a reading when they are in crisis, feeling lost or stuck, or when they feel they have important decisions to make and need another perspective. Many say that what they hear from me isn’t completely new to them. Instead, I help them to reframe how they look at the issue, often helping them to find more options than they originally thought they had. Still others say that I help them to trust the decision they’ve already made.

Your Gut Feeling
Your gut feeling about what is right for you is more important than anything I can tell you. Ultimately, you have to decide what feels right and useful and go with that. Regarding predictions, if I happen to get information about the future, it is only a probability and is based on how you have been doing things up until this point in your life. Because every human being has free will, you can change this. The likelihood of change depends on how important the change is to you and on your level of motivation.

Readings in Person Versus Over the Phone
I live and work in Vancouver, Canada. You can come to me or we can work by phone. The energy I read is not affected by proximity and the quality of the reading is just as good at a distance. Some people enjoy the journey to see me but that’s not an option if you don’t live in the area.

Out of Town Sessions
I’m available to travel to other cities, provinces or countries as long as there are enough bookings to make the journey viable. Anyone interested in exploring this option should get in touch with me. (See side bar for contact information)
